TRAINING

PRACTICAL TRAINING

In Order To Produce Better Lawyers It Is Very Much Essential That We Should Train Them With Necessary Skills And Good Etiquettes In Addition To Providing Them Sufficient Knowledge To Conduct The Cases. While Theory Classes Are Sufficient To Gain The Necessary Knowledge, The Other Two Can Be Gained Only By Practice. In This Direction, Practical Training Is Very Important. It Is Also Necessary To Give The Students Experience Of Conducting The Cases Entirely, Not Just Arguing Them. They Should Know How To Get Information From The Clients, Preparing Notes, Drafting And Filling Of Pleadings, Production Of Documentary Evidence, Examination And Cross-Examination Of Witnesses, Arguing The Cases, Etc. They Should Know All The Stages Of Different Types Of Cases. This Also Perfects Their Knowledge Already Gained Through Theory Classes.

With The Above Broad Objectives In Mind, We Conduct Practical Training To The First, Second And Third Year Students. As The Practical Training Is Part Of The Syllabus, Participation In The Same Is Compulsory.

TRAINING TO THE FIRST YEAR STUDENTS:

Students Of The First Year Law Are Taught The Skills Of Advocacy Mainly Through Classroom Lectures And Seminars, Special Lectures On Professional Ethics And Professional Skills.

TRAINING TO THE SECOND YEAR STUDENTS:

Students Of Second Year Law Are Having Basic Knowledge Of The Laws That They Have Studied In The First Year And That They Are Studying In The Second Year. They Can Help In Spreading Legal Knowledge And Legal Awareness Among The General Public. They Can Also Participate Actively As Well As Passively In The Lok Adalats And Gain Practical Knowledge And Experience Of Settlement Of Disputes Through Alternative Dispute Resolution Systems. They Can Participate In Legal Aid Clinics And Help In Avoiding Future Legal Problems Of The Clients. Therefore, The Practical Training For The Second Year Students Are Mainly In Three Fields, Viz., Legal Literary, Legal Aid And Lok Adalats. Students Maintain A Journal In Which They Record A Brief Account Of Their Participation In The Above Activities. The Journal Is Valued By The University And Marks Are Allotted To The Students.

TRAINING TO THE THIRD YEAR STUDENTS:

Students Of Third Year Law Have To Attend Two Cases And Observe The Proceedings. They Have Also To Attend The Office Of A Lawyer To Observe The Client Counseling And Preparation Of Cases. The Students Have To Prepare Pleadings And Conveyancing, Which Are Written In A Journal.
